MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025592 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated flange installation device for pvc pipe.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated flange installation device for PVC pipe comprises a platform 1 configured with plurality of chamber storing flanges, a touch enabled screen installed on the platform 1 for a user input, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 detects diameter of the pipe, a telescopically operated gripper 5 grips flanges from chambers 2 and positions the flange over a conveyer 6, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated pushers 7 installed on the conveyer 6 grips the flange of the disc, a pair of robotic arms 8 lifts the pipe, an air blower 9 blows hot air to heat the pipe, a pair of flaps 10 installed in proximity to the air blower 9 via a pair of motorized hinges 11 for providing to-and-fro motion to the flaps 10, and a plate 12 installed with the platform 1 via a motorized pivot joint 13 for tilting the plate 12."
