MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025588 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated fiber sump repairing device.'
Inventor(s) include Avinav Pathak; Shoyab Hussain; Ananya Singh; and Priti Garg.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fiber sump repairing device, comprising a housing 1 positioned in proximity to a cooling tower, an imaging unit 2 installed over the housing 1 to determine condition of cooler tower's fiber sump, a grinding unit 3 installed over the housing 1 to conduct smoothening of fiber sump, a chamber 4 arranged within the housing 1 stored with resin solution, a roller 5 wrapped with a fiber mat installed over the housing 1 accessed by a robotic gripper 11 installed over the housing 1 to align the sheet over the solution, a sliding unit 6 configured with a hammer 7 installed with the housing 1 to fill the crack, an air blowing unit 8 installed over the housing 1 to dry the solution, a vacuum unit 9 installed with the housing 1 to withdraw waste produced and a cutter 10 installed with housing 1 to cut the fiber mat."
