MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010074 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated feeding assistive device for disabled.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated feeding assistive device for disabled, comprising a frame 1 having a base 2 position on a fixed surface by means of four suction cups, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on frame 1 to monitor positioning of a food dish on surface, a curved member 4 arranged on base 2 and integrated with a motorized sliding unit 5 and a motorized C-shaped clamp 6 for gripping and positioning user's forearm near the dish to allow user to grab food, an angle sensor integrated on frame 1 for monitoring angle of user's arm and based on which an appropriate angle is evaluated, and a motorized constant velocity joint 7 is integrated in between base 2 and curved member 4 to tilt frame 1 up to a required angle for orienting user's forearm to assist user in eating grabbed food."
