MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022892 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 23, 2024, for 'automated farm produce quality-based sorting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated farm produce quality-based sorting device, comprising a frame 1 having a pair of inverted L-shaped rods 2 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a cylindrical body 3 arranged on the frame 1 for accommodating multiple farm produce of a particular kind which are to be sorted, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on the body 3 to determine kind of farm produce, plurality of motorized iris lids 5 integrated on surface of the body 3 for dispensing farm produce into plurality of boxes 6 arranged underneath the body 3 as per the requirement."
