MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020117 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated fan box furnishing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fan box furnishing device comprises of proximal end is integrated with a handle 6 for acquiring a grip over the handle 6 in view of positioning the distal end in proximity to an open fan box installed on a ceiling, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to determine distance in between the fan box and the distal end, a linear actuator to extend/retract for positioning a cylindrical unit 2 installed at the distal end in proximity to the fan box, multiple extendable flaps for collecting debris produced from cutting the pipe, an IR (infrared) sensor for monitoring extra length of pipes inserted inside the fan box, a telescopically operated bar to extend for positioning a blade 7 integrated on the bar in proximity to the extra length of pipe, and a pressure sensor for monitoring pressure applied by the blade 7 on the pipe."
