MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026147 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated fabric length cutting and storing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Amresh Kumar; Satwinder Singh; Dr. Ranjan; Amanpreet; Devesh; Suraj Kumar; and Dushyant Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fabric length cutting and storing device, comprises body 1 positioned on a fixed surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 accessed by user to provide input, a motorized roller 3 rotates for unwrapping a fabric coiled on the roller 3, an imaging unit 4 captures images of the body 1, a pair of clamping units 5 acquiring a grip on ends of the fabric, a laser measurement sensor monitors the length of the unwrapping fabric, a motorized first gripper 6 positions the cutter 7 to cut the unwrapped fabric, a motorized second gripper 8 positions underneath unwrapped fabric, motorized clippers acquires a grip on the unwrapped fabric, multiple trays 10 stores stack of different fabrics."
