MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024162 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated fabric cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Rijul Modgil; Rishikesh Raj; Rubal Jeet; Rini Sharma; and Puneet.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fabric cutting device, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, touch interactive display panel 2 that is accessed by a user for selecting a particular fabric to be cut along with required length of the fabric, motorized rollers 3 to rotate for unwrapping the user-selected fabric from the rollers 3, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of inside of the body 1 to determine positioning of the unwrapped fabric inside the body 1, robotic arms 5 to grip ends of the unwrapped fabric, motorized clipper 7 to acquire a grip on ends of the unwrapped fabric in view of engaging end of the unwrapped fabric on the winch 6 and a motorized gripper 8 integrated with a motorized cutter 9 to cut the fabric for allowing the user-specified length of the fabric to be coiled on the winch 6."
