MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611049551 A) filed by Dr. Vivek Kumar; Ms. Vyanjna Saini; Mr. Rahul Verma; Dr. Sandeep Kumar; Mrs. Renu Tomar; and Dr. Jully Garg, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, on April 18, for 'automated environmental compliance and pollution mitigation system for cost-optimized industrial processes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Vivek Kumar; Ms. Vyanjna Saini; Mr. Rahul Verma; Dr. Sandeep Kumar; Mrs. Renu Tomar; and Dr. Jully Garg.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automated environmental compliance and pollution mitigation system (100) for cost-optimized industrial processes. The system (100) comprises a multi-modal sensor array (101), an edge computing gateway (102) having a dedicated hardware processor (103) and a non-transitory memory (104), a pollutant characterization module (105), a regulatory compliance engine (106), a mitigation actuator assembly (107) having dosing pumps (108) and variable-frequency drives (109), and a communication interface (110). The pollutant characterization module (105) processes sensor signals through a hardware-accelerated neural inference unit (111) to classify emission species and concentrations, while the regulatory compliance engine (106) computes cost-optimized abatement setpoints that minimize reagent consumption and energy usage. The system (100) achieves real-time compliance with emission standards while reducing operational costs by up to 34 percent. The invention finds application in chemical, power, cement, pharmaceutical, and metallurgical industries for continuous emission monitoring and automated pollution abatement."
