MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023461 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated electric iron soleplate cleaning device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated electric iron soleplate cleaning device comprises a hollow cuboidal housing 1 incorporating plurality of suction cups 3 to affix the housing 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed over the housing 1 to determine location of the iron, a motorized two-axis lead screw arrangement 5 installed over the housing 1 for translating a telescopic gripper 6 configured with the arrangement 5, a touch interactive display panel 7 installed over the housing 1 for user input, a Peltier unit arranged within the housing 1 to heat an abrasive material, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 installed between the gripper 6 and arrangement 5 to provide to and fro movement to the iron, a chamber 9 arranged within the housing 1 to store an acidic solution, and an electronic nozzle 10 installed with the chamber 9 to dispense the solution within a receptacle arranged within the housing 1."
