MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024911 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated edible wrapping device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated edible wrapping device, comprising a frame 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, plate 2 that is accessed by a user for accommodating an edible which is to be wrapped, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing images in vicinity of the frame 1 to determine dimensions of the accommodated edible, motorized roller 4 rotate for unwrapping a foil coiled on the roller 4, motorized gripper 5 integrated with a cutter 6 to cut the foil, a robotic arm 7 to grip and uplift the edible from the plate 2, telescopically operated L-shaped link 8 to extend for getting positioned in proximity to extra length of the foil, flap 9 integrated on the link 8 by means of a motorized hinge joint 10 to tilt the flap 9 for folding excess length of foil onto the edible in order to cover the edible with the foil."
