MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006901 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'automated edible nut cracking device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated edible nut cracking device, comprising a circular platform 1 positioned carved with a groove to be placed with edible nuts, a touch screen 2 installed on the platform 1 enabling user's input commands, a camera 3 mounted on the platform 1 detecting placement of edible nuts in the groove, a circular metallic disc 4 installed on platform 1 via telescopically operated rod 5 placing disc 4 towards the groove, plurality of electromagnets 6 integrated in the groove to move the disc 4 within the groove, plurality of iris pores 7 configured at walls of the groove paired with a suction unit 8 to open for collecting cracked edible nuts into a chamber 9 connected with suction unit 8, a speaker 10 mounted on platform 1 notifying regarding collecting the nuts and a pair of air blowers 11 mounted on platform 1 blowing off skins of the peanuts."
