According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated earthworms extraction device for soil surface comprises of, a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a soil surface, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 for moving the body 1 on the soil surface, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for extracting earthworms from the soil surface, an imaging unit 4 for detecting dimensions of the soil surface, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated rods 5 to extend and insert in soil surface, a pair of vibrating units for generating vibrational sensations to lure the earthworms towards top of soil surface, a wedge-shaped plate 6 for collecting soil along with the earthworms on the plate 6, a motorized hinge 7 installed on the body 1 via wedge-shaped plate 6 for tilting and partially inserting the plate 6 in the soil surface, and a tray 8 via a vibrating arrangement 9 for sieving soil from the tray 8."
