MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019357 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated drippers installation device for irrigation pipe.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated drippers installation device for irrigation pipe, comprises of an elongated body 1 having a proximal and distal ends 2, 3, a handle 4 arranged at proximal end accessed by user for positioning body 1 in proximity to an irrigation pipe to be installed with drippers, an imaging unit 5 for determining length of pipe as well as density and direction of plants, a laser emitter 6 for emitting a laser beam at a particular point of pipe, a pair of extendable curved links 7 for encircling the pipe, a sharp pin 8 for puncturing a hole on the pipe at the particular point, a robotic arm 9 for engaging a particular-sized dripper over pin in inverted manner, an expandable pulley arrangement 11 for expanding/contracting the pin and acquiring grip on the drippers and the pin contracts to disengage with pin for affixing dripper within the hole."
