MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025511 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated drawstring inserting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Seema Rani; Diksha Verma; Sarabjit Kaur; and Arin Dhorta.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated drawstring inserting device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 2 installed over the platform 1 to determine type of the cloth, a pair grippers 3 installed with the platform 1 by means of an inverted L-shaped telescopic rod to grip the clothing to position eyelets of drawstring channel, a touch interactive display panel 4 installed over the platform 1 to select a particular color of the drawstring that is to be inserted, a motorized cutter 6 configured over the platform 1 to cut the drawstring, a robotic arm installed over the platform 1 to insert multiple links arranged with the arm in the eyelet(s), a pair of robotic clamps are installed over the platform 1 to withdraw one of the drawstring threader and engage the cut drawstring in view of inserting the drawstring in the drawstring channel."
