MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006207 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'automated door lock installation device.'

Inventor(s) include Monika Gosain; Sukhdeep Kaur; Amanpreet Kaur Mander; Jhalak; Aakriti; and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated door lock installation device, comprising a platform 1 having a set of plates 2, a touch enabled screen 3 accessed by a user to give input commands for installing lock with door along with specifying dimensions of lock, a camera 5 detects dimensions of edge, a holographic projection unit 6 guides user in positioning platform 1 over an accurate location on edge, an ultrasonic sensor detects width of door, two motorized sliders 7 configured between plates 2 and platform 1 for translating plates 2 to grip door edge, a motorized cutter 8 for cutting out wood from edge, a two-axis lead screw arrangement 11 provides movement to cutter 8 for carving a slot, a gripper 12 positions door lock in slot, a first robotic arm 13 strikes a hammer 14 over door lock, a second arm 15 fastens nail with lock by a screw driver 16."
