MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007479 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 3, 2024, for 'automated device for harvesting berries.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated device for harvesting berries, comprises of a hollow cuboidal body 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch enabled screen 2 is mounted on the body 1 accessed by a user to input commands for harvesting berries from plants, a camera 3 for determining a path to be followed for reaching to a farm grown with berry plants, omnidirectional wheels 4 for maneuvering body 1 at the farm, a laser acuity sensor for detecting plant's dimension, a pair of horizontal rods 5 arranged laterally at inner periphery of said body 1 via a dual-axis slider 6 for producing toggling motion in flap for harvesting of berries, a metallic plate 8 to adjust size according to shape of plant's branch for proper harvesting of the berries and iris lid 10 crafted on plate 8 for collecting the harvesting berries within a chamber 11 attached with body 1."
