MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026105 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated crops protection device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated crops protection device comprises of a frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the frame 1 to determine height of crops cultivated on the field, a pair of telescopically operated rods 3 arranged on the frame 1 for positioning a horizontal bar attached in between the rods 3 over the crops, a thermal sensor installed on the bar and synced with imaging unit 2 for detecting presence of pests and beetles on the crops, a telescopic link installed on the bar to extend for positioning a circular motorized spindle over the crops to rotate freely on its axis in view of removing the insects and beetles from the crops, an electronically controlled nozzle 4 integrated on a multi-sectioned chamber 5 for dispensing an anti-septic solution for eliminating the pest infection from the crop."
