MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621010136 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Jan. 30, for 'automated crop protection and management system.'

Inventor(s) include Ayush Gour; Sukhdeep Kaur; Rajkumar Rajbhar; Deep Dave; and Dr. Sanket Badiyani.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated crop protection and management system, comprising a U-shaped structural housing 101 to be deployed over a crop area, a surveillance module to continuously monitor crop conditions and detect animal, bird, or pest intrusion, a protection module to selectively deploy physical protective elements over the crops, a pest deterrent unit 104 to dispense species-specific repellents upon detection of pests or animals, a soil monitoring assembly to detect and transmit real-time soil condition data to the microcontroller, a water dispensing unit to deliver water in controlled quantities to crops, a chemical dispensing unit to automatically mix water and chemicals and apply the mixture to crops, a multi-sectioned chemical chamber 107 to store various type of chemicals, and a weight sensing to monitor remaining chemical quantity and dispensed dosage."
