MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022633 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'automated crack repairing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated crack repairing device, comprising a housing 1 positioned over a ground surface, motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 arranged beneath housing 1, to maneuver housing 1 over surface, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 for capturing images of surroundings to determine location of a workpiece that is to be repaired, robotic arm 4 to position a heating element 5 configured with arm 4 over detected crack, heating element 5 to soften edges of crack, motorized roller 6 wrapped with a metallic wire to rotate on axis in view of unwrapping a regulated length of wire, motorized cutter 7 to cut wire into multiple pieces, robotic gripper 8 to grip one of piece of wire in a sequential manner and insert in melted crack in view of connecting crack, chamber 9 stored with putty and an electronic nozzle 10 to dispense evaluated amount of putty within crack thereby filling crack."
