MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013528 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automated covering sheet application device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated covering sheet application device, comprising a platform 1 configured with multiple rods 2 supporting platform 1 on fixed surface via suction cups 3 attached with the rods 2, a chamber 4 assembled on the platform 1 storing covering sheets, an imaging unit 5 installed on the platform 1 determining book placement and dimensions, a display panel 6 mapped on the platform 1 enabling user's input commands, a motorized conveyor 7 attached with the chamber 4 translating sheet towards a folding unit 8 configured with the platform 1, a robotic gripper 9 assembled on the platform 1 placing book over the sheet, a first robotic link configured with an inverted J-shaped member 10 pressing sheet for covering the book and a second robotic link configured with a cutting unit 11 cutting excess sheet during the covering of the book."
