MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020163 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated coconut water extraction device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Charu Mehan; Dr. Maninder Gill; Gurleen Kaur; and Karan Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated coconut water extraction device, comprises of a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch enabled screen 3 mounted on the housing 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for extracting coconut water from the coconut, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted in the housing 1 for detecting presence of the coconuts on the conveyer 2 to translate for transferring the coconuts, pair of C-shaped expandable motorized clamp 6 configured in the member 5 to expand for gripping the coconut securely, an ultrasonic sensor positioned in the member 5 detects dimensions of the coconuts, a pneumatic blade configured in the member 5 via a motorized slider to cut the coconut in two halves, and multiple iris pores 7 configured at the base portion for transferring the water."
