MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024937 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated cloth repairing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cloth repairing device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface by means of plurality of suction cups 2, a primary ring 3 configured with platform 1 by means of a pair of links 4 in which a user to position a cloth with a hole over ring, a touch interactive display panel 5 provides input regrading repairing of hole, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 determines dimension of hole over cloth, a secondary ring 7 is aligned around primary ring 3 to affix cloth within rings, a motorized cylindrical member 9 configured over rings by means of an inverted L-shaped pole 10, a motorized roller 11 unwraps thread of detected color, a cavity 12 crafted at bottom portion to protrude over of corresponding section and gripped by a robotic gripper 13 and insert in a needle to perform sewing over hole."
