MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411030078 A) filed by Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 14, 2024, for 'automated cloth cutting and sewing.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Madhushi Verma; and Dr. Manish Raj.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is an anti-fold dress ornament cutter machine, comprising a cutting platform with an automated fabric feeding system to uniformly feed dress ornament cloth into the cutting platform. An adjustable tension control mechanism is integrated with the automated fabric feeding system, wherein the adjustable tension control mechanism adjusts the tension applied to the dress ornament cloth based on the associated properties. A laser cutting head, positioned above the cutting platform, cuts the dress ornament cloth. An automatic fabric thickness detection system, integrated with the cutting platform and the laser cutting head, detects the thickness of the dress ornament cloth and adjusts the cutting parameters of the laser cutting head. A control unit is programmed to coordinate the operations of the automated fabric feeding system, the adjustable tension control mechanism, the laser cutting head, and the automatic fabric thickness detection system, to enable fold-free cutting of the dress ornament cloth."
