MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024891 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated cling wrap wrapping device.'

Inventor(s) include Ranvijay Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cling wrap wrapping device, comprising a rectangular frame 1 affixed with surface of a wall, a touch interactive display panel 2 installed over the frame 1 to enable a user to provide input commands, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 installed over the frame 1 to determine dimension of a container, an extendable gripper 4 configured with the frame 1 to grip the container, a motorized roller 5 installed with the frame 1 and wrapped with cling wrap to rotate on axis to unwrap the cling wrap, a pair of robotic arms 6 installed with the frame 1 to align the unwrapped cling wrap over the container, a motorized cutter 7 over the sliding unit simultaneous to actuation of the cutter 7 to cut the cling wrap and a flap 8 configured with the frame 1 to wrap the aligned cling wrap around periphery of the container."
