MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611024093 A) filed by Malaviya National Institute Of Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Feb. 28, for 'automated classification system for silicosis using deep learning and related methods.'

Inventor(s) include Priyanka Harjule; Rinki Sharma; and Rajesh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented method and system for automated classification of medical images using a deep learning framework are described. The method involves receiving an input medical image, enhancing its contrast and visibility, extracting features using a pre-trained convolutional neural network, and processing these features through a neural network classifier to generate a disease classification output. The system includes an input interface, an image enhancement module, a feature extraction network, and a neural network classifier. A fractional-order optimization engine is used to train the classifier, incorporating a memory effect in the optimization process to achieve stable convergence and avoid local minima. The method and system are applicable to chest X-ray images for silicosis classification and include a visualization module for highlighting diagnostic focus regions."
