MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018854 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'automated chimney cleaning device.'

Inventor(s) include Namit Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated chimney cleaning device, comprising a platform 1 configured with plurality of suction cups 2 for affixing the platform 1 on a ground surface for cleaning a chimney, an image capturing module 3 installed on the platform 1 determining an area of chimney to be cleaned, plurality of telescopic links 4 installed on the platform 1 to extend and position a motorized brush 5 installed on one of the links 4, a speaker 6 installed on the platform 1 for notifying a user and plurality of motorized links 7 installed on the platform 1 and interconnected with each other via a stretchable fabric 8 for accumulating dust and ashes over the fabric 8."
