MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003715 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'automated chain sprocket removing device.'

Inventor(s) include Rajeev Ranjan.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated chain sprocket removing device comprises of an inverted L-shaped telescopic frame 1 with a handle 2 positioned over a wheel rim preinstalled with chain sprocket, an imaging unit 3 installed on frame 1 for detecting positioning and size of sprocket, a hollow member 9 to be attached with frame 1, over the sprocket, a touch sensor installed on member 9 for detecting accommodation of the sprocket inside member 9, pair of clamps 4 for clamping the sprocket by actuation of a high torque DC electric motor that provide a rotational motion to the member 9 that aids in removing of the sprocket, a dust sensor installed on clamps 4 for detecting presence of dust particles on the sprocket, an electronic valve 6 attached with a chamber 7 assembled on member 9 for dispensing a lubricating paste on sprocket for cleaning the sprocket while removing the rim."
