MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023999 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated chain repairing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated chain repairing device, comprising a circular platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface to receive a metallic chain to be repaired, suction cups 2 to affix the platform 1 with the surface, an imaging unit 3 to capture images of the chain, motorized sliding unit 4 to grip the chain in between plate 5 motorized pop-out wheels 6 to translate the chain, an inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 8 to extend for inserting the rod within the first cavity, a hollow rod 7 for applying pressure over the pin 9 to detach the pin 9 from link, microphone 10 to receive voice command of the user regarding attachment of the detached chain, telescopic grippers 11 for extending to align holes crafted on the links of the ends, jaws 12 to grip a new pin 9 and a motorized hinge joint 14 to provide rotation to the jaws 12."
