MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105641 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'automated cavity drilling device.'

Inventor(s) include Gajendra Shrimal.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cavity drilling device, comparing a platform 101 attached with a plurality of extendable legs 102, each configured with a motorized wheel 103 for providing mobility to platform 101, a touch interactive display panel 104 is mounted on platform 101 for enabling a user to provide input commands, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 mounted on platform 101 to generate a three-dimensional map of surroundings of platform 101, a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) module installed on platform 101 for determining distance of selected areas from platform 101, an auger blade 106 installed underneath platform 101 by means of a hydraulic actuator 107, that is actuated by microcontroller to apply an optimum force onto auger for positioning auger onto soil of surface and a DC (Direct Current) motor 108 linked with auger blade 106 for rotating to induce rotary motion in auger blade 106."
