MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024649 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated carpet trimming device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dilip Kumar; and Aishwary Awasthi.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated carpet trimming device comprises a platform 1 configured with plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 maneuvering the platform 1 on a ground surface, a touch enabled screen 3 is installed on the platform 1 for a user input, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the platform 1 detecting edges of the ground surface, an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 5 installed with first portion 6 of the platform 1 for positioning a motorized cutter 7 for cutting the carpet, a motorized roller 8 installed with a second portion 9 of the platform 1 via an L-shaped telescopically operated bar 10 for positioning the member in contact with the carpet for pressing the trimmed carpet, an angle sensor positioned on the platform 1 detecting surface level of the ground surface, and a motorized hinge 11 configured between the roller 8 and bar 10 for tilting the roller 8."
