MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024687 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated carpet spreading device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated carpet spreading device comprises of, a cuboidal housing 1 arranged over a ground surface, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 assembled beneath the housing 1 to position the housing 1 over the user-specified area, touch interactive display panel 3 mounted over the housing 1 to enable the user to provide input regarding requirement of spreading of carpet along with type of the carpet, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 arranged over the housing 1 to evaluate 3-D mapping of the surface, multiple suction units configured over the rods to generate negative pressure to affix the carpet with the rods, pair of robotic grippers 6 configured over the housing 1 to grip free end of the user-specified carpet, LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sensor arranged over the housing 1 to monitor light intensity in surroundings, multiple Light emitting diodes embedded in the housing 1 to emit light in the surroundings."
