MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006957 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'automated carpet cleaning device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ranjan Sariyal; Shweta Lamba; and Mandeep Kaur.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated carpet cleaning device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on the ground surface, a touch-enabled screen 2 to input commands for cleaning the carpet, a camera 3 for capturing multiple images of the surroundings, plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 4 for maneuvering the cuboidal body 1 over the detected carpet, an electronic nozzle 5 attached with a chamber 6 stored with cleaning solution to dispense the cleaning solution, a motorized disc 7 configured with plurality of bristles 8 to scrub the carpet, an electronic valve 9 attached with a vessel 10 to dispense water over the carpet, a curved shaped extendable flap 11 for wiping water from the carpet, plurality of iris pores 12 configured with the curved shaped extendable flap 11 and connected with a suction unit for withdrawing water from the carpet, and a receptacle 13 to store the collected water."
