MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531024858 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 19, for 'automated cargo bed covering device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cargo bed covering device comprising a platform 101 attached to roof of a load-carrying vehicle via plurality of suction cups 102 arranged beneath, a user presses platform 101 against roof to enable suction cups 102 to affix platform, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 103 installed over platform101with a laser sensor to determine dimensions of cargo bed, an inverted U-shaped frame 104 attached to lateral sides of cargo bed by motorized clamp 105s, with a motorized drawer arrangement integrated into each side to provide extension/retraction of frame 104 based on detected dimensions, and a motorized roller 106 wrapped with a waterproof sheet with a motorized ball and socket joint installed between each of the ends and clamp 105 to deploy sheet over the cargo bed."
