MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026149 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated camera lens cover removing device for mobile phones.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated camera lens cover removing device for mobile phones comprises of a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and assembled with a platform 2 to be placed with a mobile phone, a touch enabled screen 3 is installed on the housing 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for removing camera lens cover installed with the camera lens of the mobile phone, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted within the housing 1 for detecting exact location of camera lens of the mobile phone, a pair of plates 5 each carved with a C-shaped cavity 6 installed on the platform 2 via a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated rods, plurality of pneumatic blocks installed within the cavity 6, an L-shaped telescopically operated bar installed on the platform 2 and configured with a motorized clamp for gripping and rotating the lens cover for loosening the lens."
