MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025608 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated cable connector coupling device.'

Inventor(s) include Shikha Chaudhary; Sandeep Kumar; Shoyab Hussain; and Rajul Dutt.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cable connector coupling device, comprising a platform 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, telescopic rods 2 to extend/ retract for positioning the platform 1 at an optimum height from the surface, holding slot 3 is accessed by a user to accommodate a multi-conductor cable within the slot, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of surrounding to detect presence and dimensions of the cable, motorized cutter 5 to cut jacketing of accommodated cable, robotic grippers 6 to grip insulators of the cable and position the insulators into a slotted arrangement 7 to straighten the insulators, motorized sliding arrangement 8 for arranging multiple horizontal link rods 9, hinge joint 10 to tilt for deploying a V-shaped cutting unit 11 in contact with the insulators, cutting unit 11 to remove outer covering of the insulators and multi-sectioned chamber 12 stored with multiple cable connectors."
