MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018731 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 3, for 'automated butter stick cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pradeep Kumar Mohanty.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated butter stick cutting device, comprising a rectangular hollow body 101 constructed with top and bottom opening, allowing a user to put a butter stick inside the body 101, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 102 to monitor dimensions of the butter stick, a pneumatic link 103 with a pair of plates 104 to extend and grip the butter stick with the help of the plates 104, a microphone 106 to receive voice command of the user regarding requirement of a slice of butter stick and also thickness of the slice, a motorized sliding unit 107 to translate the butter stick towards the bottom opening to withdraw from the body 101, a laser sensor to monitor thickness of the butter stick protruding out of the bottom opening and pneumatic cutter 108 for cutting a slice of the butter stick."
