MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020079 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated brick splitting device.'
Inventor(s) include Rajesh Pandey; Mridul; R. P. Agarwal; and Sumika Jain.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated brick splitting device comprises of a platform 1 installed with an inverted U-shaped frame 2 positioned on a fixed surface, a plate 3 is configured on the platform 1 for accommodating a brick to be split, a camera 4 mounted on the frame 2 for capturing multiple images of the brick, a rack and pinion gear arrangement 5 configured between the plate 3 and platform 1 to position the brick underneath a blade 6 installed with the frame 2 via a pair of sliders 7, a hammer 8 installed with the frame 2 via a motorized pivot joint 9 to hit the hammer 8 over the blade 6, and a DC (Direct Current) motor coupled with each of the slider 7 to translate the blade 6 back near the hammer 8 for successive strike of the hammer 8 on the blade 6 to split the brick."
