MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024926 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated boxes/ cartoons sorting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated boxes/ cartoons sorting device comprises of a, a cuboidal body developed to be positioned horizontally on a fixed surface, suction cups are configured on bottom portion of the body for affixing the body on the surface, a pair of motorized rollers 6 arranged installed with the body by pair of telescopically operated rod 7 for positioning the roller, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the body for capturing and processing multiple images of surroundings, plurality of weight sensors installed on the primary conveyor belt 1 for monitoring individual dimensions and weight of the box/ cartoon, plurality of circular plates 4 of varying dimensions carved on the body with a pair of secondary conveyor belts 3 for evaluating an optimum orientation of the secondary conveyor belts 3."
