MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006914 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'automated bottle opening device.'

Inventor(s) include Kuldeep; and Kaushik.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated bottle opening device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a surface accessed by user to manually keep a bottle, an image capturing module 2 for detecting presence, shape and size of bottle for determining presence of the bottler over the platform 1, an OCR linked with the image capturing module 2 detects the instruction written on the bottle that is required to be followed before opening of the bottle, suction unit 3 for securely gripping bottom portion of the bottle, a pressure sensor to detect pressure applied over the bottom portion, a pair of motorized clamping unit 4 via a L-shaped pneumatic rod 5 to extend and position the clamping unit 4 on lateral sides of the bottle to grip side portion of the bottle, a universal joint for providing a to and fro movement to the bottle, a capacitive sensor for detecting material of the bottle."
