MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088268 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'automated body dimensions measurement device.'
Inventor(s) include Prashant Chaudhary; and Dr. Arun Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated body dimensions measurement device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a ground surface to accommodate a person to detect dimension of person's body, a rectangular frame 10 attached with a pair of strings 7 coiled around a set of pulleys 4 to translate strings 7 for translation of frame 10, primary cameras 8 to detect the person's height, bi-directional DC electric motors 5 configured with pulleys 4 to position frame 10 up-till person's chin portion, up-till thigh portion and up-till arm portions of person, respectively, a first, second and third set of laser emitters 16 arranged on the frame 10 to project a first, second and third pattern over person's body, primary, secondary and tertiary cameras 18 to detects all the pattern, respectively, a microcontroller to evaluate dimension of person's body and a screen to display evaluated dimension of person's body."
