MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079860 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'automated bird feeding device.'
Inventor(s) include Umesh Bhardwaj; Krishna Kalsi; Ashwani K. Sharma; and Bhasker Pratap Choudhary.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated bird feeding device, comprising a body 1 is adapted for storing water and for storing food grains for feeding of a bird, an artificial intelligence image capturing unit 4 determine number of birds sitting in proximity to the body 1 and simultaneously determines number of slots required for accommodating each of the bird for feeding the food and water, a motorized slider 5 configured with plurality of strips 6 actuated by microcontroller to translate the strips 6 for forming the determined number of slots in order to accommodate the bird within respective slot, and a pair of containers 7 each configured with an electronic nozzle 8 and stored with water and food respectively, in case microcontroller detects food/water within each of the section 2, 3 recedes a threshold level, the microcontroller activates the nozzle to dispense the water/food within respective section 2, 3."
