MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013497 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automated battery terminal repairing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated battery terminal repairing device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface that is accessed by a user for accommodating a battery that is to be repaired, an imaging unit 2 for detecting extend damage over terminals of battery, a circular plate 4 assembled on telescopically operated L-shaped bar 3 configured with rings 7 of varying dimensions for positioning ring over the terminal, an extendable flap 6 integrated around the rings 7 for forming boundary around the terminal, a pair of robotic arms 8 for positioning aluminum electrode over terminal followed by melting of electrode over terminal, a grinding blade 12 for shaping the terminal resulting in repairing of the terminal and a multi-meter 14 for detecting the flow of electric current across the terminal in order to ensure proper repairing of the terminals."
