MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024801 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated bat repairing system.'

Inventor(s) include Vidhi; Crity Goyal; Sumain Singla; and Tejbir Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated bat repairing system, comprising cuboidal shaped body 1 installed on a fixed surface and a user is required to place a cricket-bat that needs to be repaired on a slot arranged in body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 determines conditions of cricket-bat placed in slot, a laser sensor determines dimensions of worn part of bat, plurality of chambers 3 for storing multiple components, two motorized robotic grippers 4 for gripping a motorized blade to position blade near worn part of bat, a robotic arm 5 provides movement to an electric glue gun 6 for positioning glue gun 6 near cut part of bat to dispense amount of glue and further grippers 4 move for gripping new part from chamber 3 and affixing part on solution, and a planer provides linear movement for smoothening part's edges."
