According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated banana bunch handling and cutting device comprises of a platform 101 having extendable rods 102 with motorized wheel 103 at the ends for maneuvering the platform, a robotic gripper 104 with rubberized end for grasping a banana bunch, a primary three claw centering unit for placing banana bunch, a belt lifting arrangement 106 having a frame 108 for supporting a plate 107, a continuous belt 109 around pair of pulleys 110 for moving along the frame, a motor for driving movement of the belt 109, carriage for positioning a secondary three-claw centering unit 111 which engage a banana bunch, a pair of guide tracks for restricting motion of the carriage, a cutting unit 112 via articulated bar 113 mounted on circular slider for cutting banana bunch, pair of L-shaped extendable links 114 having motorized clamp 115 for grasping the cut banana bunch and storing into a storage chamber."
