MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024918 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated ball and bearing assembly manufacturing device.'

Inventor(s) include Vinay Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ball and bearing assembly manufacturing device comprises a housing 1 installed with a touch enabled screen 3 for user input, a pair of pneumatic pins 2 held within plurality of chambers arranged on the housing 1 for releasing the rings on a conveyer 4 installed underneath the chambers, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 mounted within the housing 1 for detecting presence of the rings on the platform 5, a telescopically operated gripper 7accommodates one of the rings within the other ring, plurality of containers stores steel balls each assembled with a motorized iris lid for dispensing pre-set number of the balls, a circular disc 8 suspended from a ceiling portion of the housing 1 via a telescopically operated rod 9, for positioning the disc within inner ring, and an expandable pulley arrangement 10 integrated within the disc for increasing diameter of the disc."
