The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention disclosed an automated answer sheet grading system integrates large language model-based evaluation with blockchain technology for secure assessment of handwritten examination responses. The system comprises a camera module for capturing images of handwritten answer sheets, a processing unit executing evaluation software module that transmits captured images along with loaded rubrics and custom instructions to a large language model for assessment, and interfaces for blockchain and enterprise resource planning system integration. The large language model analyzes both textual content and diagrams, assigns marks based on evaluation criteria, and generates detailed justification text explaining the rationale for scores awarded or deducted. The system creates dedicated folders for each student to store scanned images and justification texts. Grading results are uploaded to both an enterprise resource planning system and a blockchain network for immutable storage, ensuring tamper-proof records and complete audit trails. The portable hardware configuration enables deployment in various educational settings."
