MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013492 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automated agarwood collecting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated agarwood collecting device comprises of an automated agarwood collecting device comprises of a platform 1 arranged with multiple rods 2 that provides support to platform 1 on a ground surface, an imaging unit 4 for determining presence of an agarwood tree in vicinity to platform 1, a scissor arrangement for providing upward motion to platform 1, a first inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 5 for extending to position a heating unit 6 over tree's trunk for generating heat on trunk in order to loosen trunk, a second inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 7 for extending to position a motorized drilling unit 8 on trunk portion of tree to drill a hole on trunk portion, a chamber 9 for storing multiple collection unit 12, a robotic gripper 10 for withdrawing and placing one of collection unit 12 over trunk and a motorized clamp 11 for gripping trunk portion."
