MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122381 A) filed by New Horizon College Of Engineering, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'auto stop holder for water filters.'

Inventor(s) include C. Lavanya; Dr. B Rajalakshmi; Bincy Mary P; and Bhumika Murthy.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a user-defined water dispensing control system for use in water filters. The system features an adjustable holder that can be manually positioned at any height on a container to define a custom water fill level. A non-contact ultrasonic sensor integrated into the holder detects the rising water level during dispensing. When the water reaches the sensor's position, a signal is sent to a control unit consisting of a microcontroller and a solenoid valve. Upon receiving the signal, the microcontroller commands the valve to close, thereby stopping the water flow automatically. The holder is constructed from a water-resistant, load-bearing material and includes a locking mechanism to secure its position on the container. This modular design allows flexible use with various container sizes and eliminates the need for user supervision, ensuring accurate and spill-free water dispensing based on the user's preferred fill height."
