MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004612 A) filed by Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'augmented reality (ar) -based road tracking system.'

Inventor(s) include Vinayak Majhi; and Sujata Pandey.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an Augmented Reality (AR)--based road tracking system meticulously designed for heavy machinery operating in regions susceptible to heavy snowfall. Traditional navigation systems face limitations in adverse weather conditions, compromising operator safety and road maintenance efficiency. The proposed AR system integrates advanced technologies, including cameras, Global Positioning System (GPS), Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors, and optional depth sensors, to capture and process real-time data. The processed data is employed to generate a dynamic AR model that overlays critical road information onto the operator's field of vision. This groundbreaking solution ensures enhanced visibility, precise navigation, and improved safety for heavy machinery operators in challenging terrains."
