MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073955 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'assistive walking device for a toddler.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Chhinder Kaur; Dr. Simrat Brar; Muskan; and Ravi Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive walking device for a toddler, comprising a rigid elongated member 1 attached with a pair of elongated rectangular flaps 8 perpendicularly, flaps 8 having a pair of tracked wheels 3 attached to each of end of the flaps 8 for a locomotion of the member 1, a telescopic rod 4 integrated with a rigid horizontal pipe at the top end and installed above a front end of the member 1 to extend or retract as per the detected height of the toddler, a telescopic link 5 provided vertically in a proximal region of the member 1 for a safety of the toddler, an imaging unit 2 installed on the member 1 to determine an obstacle in front of the member 1."
